New Places, New Things

I am back! I am moved and orientated and ready to be a law student now. Class starts tomorrow.

I love it here. Honestly, I didn't think I would after the first day, but I tend to prematurely judge things, and after being here for a week, I'm pretty much sold. It's fantastic. Three years here will be an irreplaceable experience.

But, I'm scaling back on my two-posts-per-week summer schedule, because, well, law school is kind of time consuming. And by kind of time-consuming, I mean, I've spent somewhere around 7 hours already on just my reading for the first day (yeah, we have homework in every class prior to actually meeting, so Legally Blonde was not making that part up), and I'm not even done. It's weird, because quantitatively speaking, there's not a lot of pages; it's just that 20 pages takes 3 hours to read and understand. Definitely not like undergrad.

Cool things. Cool things. Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan is speaking here on Wednesday, and it's open to all students (who fit in the room). She is also a visiting professor all semester. So this kind of stuff just happens here, I guess. That's pretty incredible, and I still can't wrap my head around how excellent, amazing things are so casually going on all the time.

That's all I have to say about that. I promise, no more legal blabber. Law school is probably boring to everybody who is not in it, and it's boring to those who are in it 90 percent of the time.

I have another review coming up soon. If I have time to write it.

  1. Good luck on your first day of classes! So glad to hear you're liking Boston. :)

I've a couple of friends in law school right now. So I'm actually pretty used to hearing about it on Twitter. Though mostly it's worrying about papers/tests and complaining about reading, haha.

    1. They were not joking about the reading. It's ridiculous. Now I can see how law school could ruin a relationship, keep you from writing, etc. At least the reading is interesting? But yeah, it's incredibly time-consuming.
